Cristiano Ronaldo became Real Madrid’s fourth highest goalscorer in their comfortable 4-1 victory over Getafe.

The Portuguese sensation netted twice to surpass Hugo Sanchez’s tally of 207 in a Real Madrid shirt.
Angel Lafita’s deflected effort gave Getafe a shock lead early on, but a close range header from Pepe and a Ronaldo penalty sent Real in 2-1 up at the break.

The impressive Isco added a third in the second-half and Real spurned a host of chances to extend their lead before a cheeky late back-heel from Ronaldo put further distance between the sides.

Gareth Bale was denied a home debut after he tweaked a hamstring in the warm-up, with Isco stepping in late on.

Fellow new arrival Asier Illarramendi did start for the first time in front of the Bernabeu faithful, while Nacho came in for Sergio Ramos at centre-back.

Getafe also lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Pedro Mosquera replacing Pablo Sarabia, and Miku getting the nod ahead of Adrian Colunga in attack.

Ronaldo saw an early shot cleared off the line but Getafe took a shot lead after just four minutes.
Ronaldo lost possession in midfield, and Miku played the ball to Lafita whose speculative shot took a huge deflection off Pepe and into the net. Ronaldo claimed he was fouled, but made the mistake of remonstrating with the referee instead of playing to the whistle.

Real were level within 15 minutes, however. Angel Di Maria produced a vicious inswinging free-kick, Miguel Angel Moya parried Ronaldo's shot but the ball fell to Pepe who converted from close-range.

Di Maria then curled in a carbon copy of the free-kick that led to the goal and Ronaldo fired wide of the near post with only Moya to beat. Real were well on top now.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side took the lead after Michel was penalised for blocking Ronaldo’s free-kick with his arm.

There were no questions over the penalty kick, which Ronaldo duly dispatched low into Moya’s bottom right corner. The goal moved him level with Sanchez as Real’s joint fourth all-time leading scorer. It was his 207th in the white shirt.

Moya had to be on his mettle to flick the ball off the line after Karim Benzema made contact on a low cross from the impressive Daniel Carvajal.

Real continued to dominate after the break and there was little surprise when they added a third.
Ronaldo took a quick free-kick to Isco who cut in and curled a beautiful effort beyond the outstretched arms of Moya. It was Isco’s fifth goal of the season.

Moya turned a fierce Ronaldo volley behind for a corner and Benzema somehow contrived to miss a header from point blank range as Real dominated.

Ronaldo was unfortunate not to win a free-kick, and Moya lucky not to be sent-off, after being taken out by the goalkeeper when clean through.

Ronaldo then clipped the outside of the post with a stunning effort after collecting the ball from Di Maria.
Michel picked up a second yellow card for bringing down substitute Jese late on before Ronaldo took his tally to 208 in a Real shirt.

The Portuguese wing wizard superbly back-heeled Khedira’s deflected cross into the far corner to add gloss to a comfortable victory.
